The Governance Mechanism of Sustainable Development​ at National Tsing Hua University

本校推動永續發展,由校長指派校級永續長,主持永續發展委員會,成立「永續與韌性發展中心」為永續發展與社會實踐辦公室,推動清華永續發展與社會實踐工作。

 

永續與韌性發展中心作為永續發展、USR與淨零排放相關辦公室,每週定期舉行中心會議、每兩個月向永續發展委員會(各單位永續長交流會議)報告工作進度,相關投影片皆完整保存並寄送給清華永續長及校內各一級單位永續長,據以掌握中心專案進度。各項專案執行成果除校內回報,每年編輯永續發展年報對外呈現、並持續參與TCSA、TSAA、遠見USR、天下雜誌等各項國內永續/ USR獎項評選,皆獲得高度肯定。

NTHU promotes sustainable development by appointing a university-level Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) designated by the President to lead the Sustainability Development Committee. Additionally, the Resilient and sustainable development center has been established as the Office for Sustainability Development and Social Practice, driving NTHU’s sustainability initiatives and social engagement efforts.

 

As the office responsible for sustainability development, University Social Responsibility (USR), and net-zero emissions, the Resilient and sustainable development center holds weekly internal meetings and provides progress reports every two months to the Sustainability Development Committee (a platform for sustainability officers from various units to exchange updates). All relevant presentation materials are properly archived and sent to NTHU's Chief Sustainability Officer and sustainability officers from all first-level administrative units to ensure project progress tracking.

Beyond internal reporting, the outcomes of various projects are compiled into an Annual Sustainability Report for external presentation. Additionally, NTHU actively participates in national sustainability and USR awards, including TCSA (Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards), TSAA (Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards), CommonWealth USR Awards, and Global Views USR Awards, consistently earning high recognition.

The university is led by a President, who oversees all university affairs, is responsible for its development, and serves as the official representative of NTHU. Assisting the President are three Vice Presidents, who support the implementation of university operations.

清華永續發展委員會 NTHU Sustainable Development Committee

​清華大學設有永續發展委員會。主席為學校永續長。另有委員25名,來自各學院及一級行政單位,通常為教師或行政主管,並同時擔任該學院/單位的永續長。永續發展委員會每兩個月召開一次委員會議,討論學校永續發展方案的進行,並協助將學校永續發展的政策落實於各學院及各行政單位。

NTHU has established the Sustainable Development Committee. The committee is chaired by the university’s Chief Sustainability Officer and consists of 25 members from various colleges and first-level administrative units. These members are typically faculty members or administrative executives who also serve as sustainability officers for their respective colleges or units.

The Sustainable Development Committee convenes every two months to discuss the progress of the university’s sustainability initiatives and assist in implementing sustainability policies across colleges and administrative units.

 

永續與韌性發展中心:永續發展與社會實踐辦公室

Resilient and sustainable development center: Office for Sustainable Development and Social Practice

 

清華大學設置永續與韌性發展中心,推動清華永續發展、社會實踐、淨零排放等相關事務的策略研擬與執行。具體工作包含規劃與協調學校永續活動、編輯永續發展年報、參與國內外評比、推動永續校園生活實驗室、組織學生永續大使、管理與推動社會實踐計畫、推動城鄉創生學程、發行域報、校園組織碳盤查、以及2050 淨零路徑規劃。

NTHU has established the Regional Innovation Center to develop and implement strategies related to sustainable development, social practice, and net-zero emissions. The center's key responsibilities include planning and coordinating university sustainability initiatives, compiling the annual sustainability report, participating in national and international evaluations, promoting the Sustainable Campus Living Lab, organizing the Student Sustainability Ambassadors, managing and advancing social practice projects, driving the Urban-Rural Regeneration Program, publishing the Regional Bulletin, conducting campus carbon inventories, and formulating the 2050 Net-Zero Roadmap.
